According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Taiwan currently has more than 260,000 low income and low-to-medium income households, meaning that a great number of children are still living in difficult environments or are deprived of resources. Motivated by the mission to give back to the society, Chairman Eric Wu represented DR.WU in donating a sum of NT$150,000 to The Garden of Hope Foundation for Ising share house on Christmas Day 2019.
In recent years, there are still many high-risk families. According to statistics from the Ministry of the Interior in Taiwan, nearly 3,000 girls go through premarital pregnancy every year. 80% choose to give up their child for adoption, while 20% choose to support the child themselves. It is difficult for a young single mother to support her family.
Ever since its establishment, DR.WU hopes to not only bring healthy skin, but also inspire confidence and beauty in girls to help better their lives! In a bid to promote female empowerment, DR.WU worked together with the Garden of Hope Foundation for the first time this year and sponsored the “6th Taiwan Formosa Girl Award”.
In 2007, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) launched Earth Hour in Sydney, Australia. Earth Hour is a global campaign where people switch their lights off for one hour. The aim of the campaign is to educate the public and shed light on the issue of climate change.This year, DR.WU is honored to be invited to join EARTH HOUR TAIWAN 60+. Founder of DR.WU, Dr. Ying-Chin Wu and Chairman of DR.WU, Eric Wu, along with company staff members will hold signs for a photo together to garner more support for the cause. The lights-off ceremony will be held on the 23rd of March, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. We should each do our part to fight climate change, so we invite all DR.WU fans to join us in the good fight!
