All DR.WU products are developed based on five main principles: “no additives, no alcohol, high concentration, top-grade ingredients, and high safety” and are clinically tested to be hypoallergenic, stable, and non-acnegenic, making them suitable for sensitive skin and after surgery.

At DR.WU, we use an Airless Pump System. With this revolutionary packaging there is no dip tube (straw), but rather a disk that rises to evacuate the product. This makes our packaging produce less waste. The airless pump delivery will ensure 99.9% of the product is pumped out as the disk moves up the bottle. No more opening up the bottle and scraping it out!

When product won't come out the bottle, DO NOT open the bottle. Simply by putting the top back on and tap the bottom of the bottle on the back of your palm a few times (5-10), then try pumping a few times slowly. Repeat the tap and pump process for several times.

Higher concentration of mandelic acid does not necessarily make a better product, because pH is important, too. Concentration levels above 20% are not suitable for home use as it may irritate the skin, and should be handled by trained physicians or beauticians instead. DR.WU uses high-purity mandelic acid manufactured by renowned German pharmaceutical company - Merck. Through repeated skin tests and clinical trials conducted by a team of professional researchers, we have discovered the ideal concentration of mandelic acid that is suitable for sensitive skin while delivering excellent penetration and absorption. Meanwhile, the addition of hydration and repairing agents such as β-glucan and non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA) supports exfoliation, pore cleansing, acne removal, and tightening to recreate the perfect skin. 

They are quite different. Mandelic acid is a type of fat-soluble citrus, whereas common citrus (also called glycolic acid) is water-soluble. Mandelic acid penetrates deeper into the skin and has larger molecules that allow them to work inside the skin for extended periods of time, and thereby improve conditions such as widened pores, pimples, acnes, and spots. In comparison, common citrus penetrates more quickly and is more likely to irritate and cause swelling to the skin, making it unsuitable for people with sensitive skin. 

No. DR.WU uses squalane extracted from olive oil through a 25-step cold extraction process. This rare plant-based ingredient, in high concentration, works deep into the skin to repair the epidermis, and forms a protective layer that hydrates and restores oil balance to the skin.

"Peptide," the most popular anti-wrinkle ingredient, are short strings of protein. Their small molecular structure allows them to penetrate and repair wrinkles from deep within. Peptides can be categorized by their molecular structures into dipeptide, tetrapeptide, pentapeptide, and more. Combining different types of peptide can help stimulate collagen growth and activate cells to yield excellent anti-wrinkle effects.

Products that contain retinoic acid or irritating chemicals should be avoided during pregnancy.

The selection of either one of these products for the daily skincare regimen should be based on the user’s skin texture.

▲Oily skin: Intensive Hydrating Gel with Hyaluronic Acid has a unique watery gel texture. It is light and easy to absorb and can be applied as overnight mask for powerful hydration effects.

▲Neutral or mixed skin or post-surgery: Hydrating Lotion with Hyaluronic Acid contains highly concentrated, plant-derived squalane which acts in concert with dulcemin, and Vitamin E derivatives to reinforce repair and conditioning effects and restore the sebum balance. The epidermis is repaired, and skin dryness and coarseness are alleviated. The skin regains its luster, tenderness, and elasticity.

▲Dry skin: Extreme Hydrating Cream with Hyaluronic Acid has a silky, delicate, and smooth texture. The synergistic effects of added plant-derived squalane, Australian Macadamia oil, and Meadowfoam Seed Oil generate exceptional hydration and repair results and relieve issues associated with unstable skin during season change such as dryness, itchiness, and scaliness.

The classic and light versions of DR. WU Intensive Hydrating Essence Toner with Hyaluronic Acid have the same hydration and absorption effects. Users should select the appropriate product based on their preferred texture and individual skin type.

Mandelic Acid-based products should be combined with thorough cleansing + reinforced hydration and repair + sun protection during the daytime.

These products are an ideal choice for sensitive and fragile skin types and post-surgery skin care.

DR. WU combines high-purity Mandelic Acid from the German pharmaceutical company Merck with four major, internationally patented hydrating and whitening components for lasting rejuvenation and renewal effects. These products are characterized by exceptional permeation and absorption effects that are superior to those of generic products available on the market. They also conform to the standard of pH>3.5 set by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

DR.WU has developed his brand-new Glutalight™ Intensive Whitening System over a period of four years. In a groundbreaking move, DR. WU has added Glutathione, the celebrated whitening component patented in Japan, to these products. This ingredient acts in concert with Ascorbyl Glucoside (AA2G), Vitamin B3, B5, and B6, HerbEx Silybum extract, and Hyalo-Oligo to inhibit Tyrosinase activity and combat melanin production at the source. Yes. DR. WU insists on strict research standards such as “no additives, no alcohol, high concentration, top-grade ingredients, and high safety”. All products have passed irritant and stability testing and are free of retinoic acid and other additives that are harmful to the baby. Expectant and breastfeeding mothers can use these products without any concerns. However, due to physical changes that are bound to occur during pregnancy, pregnant women should consult their gynecologists prior to application of products if they have any concerns or questions.

The Vitamins in the Deep Hydrating Capsule Mask with Vitamin A Plamitate act in concert with saccharide isomerate to achieve long-lasting hydration and enhanced moisture retention through penetration of the stratum basale. Glycolipids have been added to prevent skin dryness and flakiness and restore skin health.

The Vitamin B3 and B5 in the Dr. WU Soothing Moisture Capsule Mask with Vitamin B alleviates skin instability. It fortifies and repairs the moisture retention barrier and ensures powerful moisture-locking and hydration effects, restoring healthy and natural glow of the skin. These three products target different skin issues. Their differences can be described as follows : 

▲Intensive Repairing Serum with Squalane: Repairs the skin barrier and is suitable for dry and damaged skin. Around 12% squalane is present in our sebum membrane. Due to its exceptional skin affinity properties, it instantly repairs the skin and provides protection through the first, outermost skin barrier. 

▲2% Bionanoceramide + 15% NMF Hydrating Serum: Mainly targets dry, flaky skin, ceramide is present in the intercellular lipids of the stratum corneum and is capable of restoring the health of the stratum corneum. Since the sebum membrane is above the stratum corneum, the repair functions and targets of these two ingredients are completely different.

(Squalane repairs the outermost sebum membrane and its protective effect is confined to the skin surface; ceramide boosts osmotic absorption of the intercellular lipids)

▲10% Niacinamide + 1% Panthenol Soothing Serum: Targets sensitive, fragile, and red-prone skin. It can rapidly soothes, calms, and stabilizes the skin. It alleviates recurring issues associated with sensitivity and fragility and has simultaneous hydrating and soothing effects. It also boosts the defensive capabilities of the skin.

The recommended sequence is as follows: Dr.Wu Intensive Hydrating Essence Toner with Hyaluronic Acid→ Dr.Wu Intensive Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid →Intensive Repairing Serum with Squalane→ Ageversal Extra Repairing Lotion. Extreme Micro-lifting Cream with Ageversal can be added for enhanced moisturization. Another option is to blend Dr.Wu Intensive Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid with 1-2 drops of Intensive Repairing Serum with Squalane before application.

The recommended sequence is as follows: Dr.Wu Intensive Hydrating Essence Toner with Hyaluronic Acid→ Dr.Wu Intensive Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid → 2% Bionanoceramide + 15% NMF Hydrating Serum/Niacinamide Soothing Serum → Extra Hydrating Lotion with Hyaluronic Acid. Extreme Micro-lifting Cream with Ageversal can be added for enhanced hydration. Users can also blend three different serums at a ratio suitable for individual skin conditions before application (e.g., Intensive Repairing Serum with Squalane, 2% Bionanoceramide + 15% NMF Hydrating Serum, and 10% Niacinamide + 1% Panthenol Soothing Serum at a ratio of 1:1:1) to achieve simultaneous effects including hydration and soothing of the skin, strengthening of the skin barrier, and skin tightening and repair (it is recommended to apply the Niacinamide Serum at night).

Application of Mandelic Acid Renewal Serum after thorough cleansing of the face represents the first step. After application of an essence toner, users can follow their regular skincare routine. High emphasis should be placed on proper hydration and sun protection. Since skin conditions and tolerance levels vary individually, it is recommended to try products that contain Mandelic Acid on the lower jawline when using them for the first time. Use of the product may be continued if no negative reactions are caused. During the initial stage of application, users may experience slight itchiness, which is considered a normal reaction and should be no cause for concern. Application frequency can be adjusted in accordance with individual skin conditions, or the product can be applied to certain areas only. If the tingling or pricking sensation after application of fruit acid products persists for more than 3-5 minutes, the face should be rinsed thoroughly before a cold pack is applied for a short time. Skincare products with repair and hydrating effects should be applied after that.

The serum can be applied as part of a daily skincare regimen or for focal treatment：

▲Skin care: Dr. WU Daily Renewal Serum with Mandelic Acid can be applied daily to the whole face to boost skin metabolism

▲Focal treatment:Dr. WU Intensive Renewal Serum with Mandelic Acid 18% should be applied partially to areas affected by acne or blackheads 2-3 times a week.

Lowly concentrated Mandelic Acid is applied as part of the daily skincare routine, while highly concentrated Mandelic Acid is applied partially to areas affected by skin issues that occur sporadically. High emphasis should be placed on proper hydration.

Highly concentrated Mandelic Acid should be applied partially to areas affected by skin issues such as acne or blackheads. Daily application is not recommended! This skincare regimen must be combined with proper hydration and protection from sunlight. Maintenance of skin stability is a key prerequisite for the improvement of skin issues.

Flaky skin and increased acne and blackheads during the initial stage of Mandelic Acid application is a normal reaction of the skin.

The serious blockage of the sebaceous glands tends to lead to the formation of hidden blackheads or acne. After the application of Mandelic Acid, the metabolism of dead skin cells is accelerated and black- and whiteheads are effectively removed through deep penetration of the pores. Skin conditions should be observed, while the use of the product is continued. Hydration should be reinforced in the daily skincare regimen. A sufficient amount of sunscreen should be applied prior to venturing outdoors. This results in better skin renewal effects and the restoration of the delicate and flawless appearance of the skin.

Mandelic Acid stimulates the metabolism of dead skin cells. It is therefore not recommended to use other exfoliating products when Mandelic Acid is applied, since this would needlessly burden the skin!

Mandelic Acid has whitening and spot fading effects, but its key mechanism is keratin metabolism and renewal. It is not recommended to apply acid-based products as a mask. After spreading the product evenly on the skin, the next step of the skincare routine can be initiated! For more pronounced spot fading effects, please consider our Glutalight Whitening System

Yes. Flaky skin is an indicator for keratin metabolism. In addition to reinforced hydration, you can combine Mandelic Acid-based products with Dr. WU Intensive Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid and Hyalucomplex Ultimate Hydrating Masks to maintain the suppleness of the skin during the metabolism of dead skin cells.

Most whitening products available on the market contain acid. Users should therefore select either the Renewal Serum or a whitening product on the market. Another option is to combine the Renewal Serum with Dr. Wu’s acid-free Glutalight Intensive Whitening Essence Toner/Serum/Lotion/Eye Serum.

Of course ! Our composite formula consists of 99%-concentrated Mandelic Acid from top pharmaceutical plants all over the world which acts in concert with Salicyclic Acid, tea tree essential oil, and witch hazel extract. This formula ensures mild conditioning of the skin due to the superior skin affinity of the macromolecular fruit acid. Positive effects are reinforced by multiple oil-control and soothing ingredients. Vitamin B3 and B5 have been added to ensure rapid soothing and hydration, intensive minimization of pores, and restoration of the tenderness and delicateness of the skin.

This depends on individual skin conditions. If the skin seems dehydrated and dry, it is recommended to add hydrating products such as DR.WU Intensive Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid for reinforced moisturization effects.

Application sequence: Thorough cleansing and make-up removal→ Glutalight Intensive Whitening Essence Toner→ Glutalight Intensive Whitening Serum→ Intensive Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid→ Glutalight Intensive Whitening Lotion.

DR.WU Intensive Repairing Serum with Squalane contains top-grade ECOCERT-certified squalane derived from hand-picked olives cultivated on century-old plantations in southern France, grown at a constant temperature of 25 degrees. Only 1 gram of squalane can be extracted from every 720 grams of olives. By applying "Ultra Micro Cold Press Technology," a unique 25-step process, DR. WU has refined and purified the oils to create a lighter texture that quickly penetrates skin without causing stuffiness, stickiness, or acne.

Daily skincare routine: Dr. Wu Hydrating Gel Cleanser with Hyaluronic Acid→ Ageversal Intensive Firming Essence→ Intensive Repairing Serum with Squalane → Ageversal Extra Repairing Lotion. Extreme Micro-lifting Cream with Ageversal can be included for enhanced moisturization. The concentrate is applied at night after the essence toner as part of the skincare regimen. Daily skincare routine: Apply one ampoule a day for seven consecutive days and maintain your regular skincare regimen for the remaining three weeks of the month. This UV Hydrating Lotion is a light, watery emulsion infused with hyaluronic acid, composite ceramide and mint, and tea tree essential oil. It is therefore not sweat- and waterproof and should be reapplied frequently to ensure optimal protection from sunlight.

Products of the DR. WU Hyalucomplex Hydrating System can be added for extremely dry, scaly skin. Hyaluronic Acid can absorb large quantities of moisture in the skin like a sponge, while Ceramide strengthens the moisture-retaining barrier to lock in the moisture. It should be applied after DR. WU Intensive Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid. For sensitive and fragile skin, 2% Bionanoceramide + 15% NMF Hydrating Serum and 10% Niacinamide + 1% Panthenol Soothing Serum can be applied together to achieve simultaneous hydration, soothing, and barrier-strengthening effects. By adding one vial to a daily skincare regimen, all skin issues can be solved in a precise manner. DR. WU 3% MC-Resveratrol + 0.5% Ectoin Brightening & Repairing Serum is recommended as the perfect solution for skin issues caused by aging such as dullness, yellowing, scar redness, and epidermis pitting. It creates a protective, anti-oxidation barrier and strengthens the repair and defensive capabilities of the skin. DR. WU 1% Cicarelief + 2% Licorice Repairing Serum effectively relieves itchiness and redness and represents the perfect choice for post-cosmetic surgery treatment. DR. WU 1.5% EGF+ 1% Placenta Revitalizing Serum alleviates bumpiness and coarseness, injects elasticity, and smoothes fine lines.

Dr. WU Intensive Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid is water soluble. Skin hydration effects can be reinforced through use of an introducer. However, usage methods and times recommended by the manufacturer should not be exceeded to avoid discomfort.
